Lake Dunmore House, Leichester, Vermont

Situated on a small, charming lake on the western side of Vermont, this modern house fits amongst towering pines. Wagner Hodgson worked closely with the architect and clients to create a landscape which absorbs the dramatic grade change to the water’s edge and provides a quiet setting for displaying the sculptural home.
Guests arrive along an axial path, pass through a birch glade and with concrete slab steps, descend to the entry platform. One can then continue  along the path to the concrete terrace overlooking the Lake. A simple, yet elegant palette of native evergreens, Red twig and fern create a private landscape setting and buffer from neighbors.
